Privacy policy

The short version

This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads nothing from third-party servers. Nobody is tracked or profiled here. The only personal data we receive is what you type into the contact form and send us.

Who is responsible

BeSight is the controller for the personal data described here. For any question about this policy, or to exercise the rights listed below, contact us at the address in the site footer.

What the contact form collects

When you send a request, we receive the details you enter: your name, work email address, company, role, site location, which engagement you are interested in, and your message if you write one.

That information is delivered to us as an email. It is not written to a database, and this website stores no account for you.

If that email cannot be delivered — a mail outage, a full mailbox — your message is written to a private log on our server instead, so your enquiry is not silently lost and we can still reply. That log sits outside the public website, only we can read it, and successful submissions add nothing to it beyond a timestamp.

What the server records automatically

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs — the requesting IP address, time, page requested, and browser user agent. These exist to keep the site running and to investigate abuse.

To stop automated form spam, the form handler briefly writes a temporary marker file whose name is a one-way hash of the requesting IP address. It holds no readable personal data and is transient. No other record of your visit is kept.

Why we are allowed to use it

We use enquiry details to reply to you and to take the steps you asked for before any contract — under the GDPR, that is Article 6(1)(b), together with our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries under Article 6(1)(f). Server logs rest on the same legitimate-interest basis, for security and reliability.

Who else sees it

Our hosting and email provider processes this data on our behalf so the site and mailbox function. Beyond that, we do not share enquiry details with anyone.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. There is no advertising on this site.

How long we keep it

Enquiry correspondence is kept for up to 12 months so we can pick up a conversation where it left off, then deleted — unless it has become part of an ongoing customer relationship, in which case it is retained for that relationship. Server logs are kept for the period our hosting provider retains them.

The failure log described above is pruned automatically on the same schedule, so nothing lingers there longer than it would in our mailbox.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to our use of it, or to receive it in a portable form. Write to us and we will act on it.

If you think we have handled your data badly, you are entitled to complain to the data protection authority where you live.

California residents

If you live in California you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and receive the same level of service whether or not you ask. We will never charge you or treat you differently for exercising those rights.

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, so there is no opt-out to give you — there is nothing of that kind happening.

Children

This is a business website for industrial safety teams. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
